Davy's Show in New York Review - October 2009
Last week we were in New York and as we stepped out of our hotel for dinner we noticed BB King's Club opposite. We popped in to check it out and noticed that Davy Jones was appearing in less than an hour. I used to enjoy the TV show The Monkees when I was young so had a bit of a yen to see what Davy was up to now. We sat at a table in the pretty crowded room with a couple of complete fans who had Monkees music played at their wedding, they were really nice, and settled down to see what was on offer. Davy was very relaxed and comfortable with the audience, telling some naff jokes and generally building up a rapport with the crowd. He then went on to be highly entertaining, it wasn't so much of a concert more than an 'Evening with', kind of thing. I really enjoyed it.l
