In
1972, David toured the UK in the stage play ‘Forget-Me-Not-Lane’. Many thanks to Janet Wilson, who went to some of the shows,
and has kindly shared with us the flyer from the show, newspaper cutting
and a photo she took of David with his sister Beryl at the Manchester
show.
(If
you look closely at the flyer you can see it’s been signed by a certain
Mr Jones!)
The reverse side of
the flyer:

A
newspaper article on ‘Forget-Me-Not-Lane’, the accompanying text
reads:
If
you’re wondering whatever happened to the Monkees – here’s one
answer. It’s Davy Jones,
23, the US pop group’s British member who has retired to his first
love, the stage. Davy,
pictured with his leading lady Wendy Padbury, 24, is in London for
rehearsals of the play ‘Forget Me Not Lane.’
The production will open in Bournemouth.
Off-stage, Davy’s leading lady is Linda, 24, his American wife.
And there are now two children on the Manchester Monkee’s family
tree.
